We have full confidence that our AWE students will reach the level 1 school-wide fundraising goal of $5,000; so lining up an author was never in question. We are excited to announce that 2 guest authors will visit for our school wide Read-Laugh-Soar Celebration Day, our last day of Read-a-Thon, on March 6th.

Get your thinking brains ready, your curiosity turned on, and your animal ears perked up — because we’re about to go on a wild adventure through the zoo in Adrea’s latest book, I Would Love You Still! We’re going to explore the animal kingdom and learn about the 11 different animals that share our world. Then we’ll zoom in on three special animals from the book and discover some super cool facts about each one.
Have you ever seen a chameleon change color? You will today! We’ll watch short, exciting videos and see just how incredible and diverse animals can be.

Tate Godwin
Tate is a kids’ author and illustrator living and creating in North Carolina. His visit will include grades 3, 4, 5.
Tate kicks things off by sharing the wild, up-and-down story behind his book Operation: Cover-Up using fun, illustrated slides. Then students jump into creating their own stories with his hands-on guide, Operation: Make a Story.
Students will learn the basics of storytelling—main character, motivation, and obstacles—while letting their imaginations run wild and, most importantly, having fun!
